And VOILA. Having harassed asked people to tell me which were their favorite of my breastfeeding images I present the finished poster. I’ll be doing a final proofreading tomorrow to avoid embarrassing typos.

How embarrassing? I brought a stack of free postcards to the La Leche League conference in April touting the wonders of breasfeeding. I’d like to avoid that this time.

Breastfeeding Portraits in Connecticut

SO I’ll be doing a final proofread then send the file out to the printer. I’ll be giving them out to local breastfeeding professionals. You can order a personal copy as long as my extras hold out.

Thanks. Big boobs, small boobs. By and large, barring medical issues, they all make milk. It’s one of the strange body mysteries – why do women have different sized breasts.

My breastfeeding days are long gone but I’d like to say how much I love your images and particularly the ones of the older children breastfeeding. My youngest breastfed until she was almost 5. Awesome job!

It’s gorgeous work. I think adding in some ethnic diversity would make it even better. White women aren’t the only ones we should be encouraging to breastfeed.

  15. 15 Stacie said at 2:01 pm on July 6th, 2010:

Heather – I know. I advertised for women of color to model for me for my breastfeeding projects (and continue to do so) but have never had any takers.

  16. 16 Elle said at 2:01 pm on July 6th, 2010:

The poster is beautiful. I am on my 22nd month breastfeeding my twins and I only have 2 more months to go. My only question about the poster is did you have a hard time finding a women of different nationalities to represent the world to pose for you?

  17. 17 Stacie said at 2:08 pm on July 6th, 2010:

Elle – I have to work with the willing models I have. I don’t have the budget to hire people.

Stacie – that’s sad. Have you tried advertising through LLL. I would assume so, they are such a well-known group. Perhaps some doctor offices, too? The library? Just wish there was some way to encourage a broader ethnicity.
