OK, you’re out of luck for March. Unless you have a newborn March is full, full, full. Actually, March is full even if you DO have a newborn but I do always try very hard to squeeze in itty-bitties before they aren’t quite so itty or bitty anymore. But, really, the month is booked.

Now, April is shaping up to be a busy month too. I have some pre-booked newborns waiting to come out, the La Leche League conference, which I adore, and a day of mini sessions which means that, sure, you can get a 30 minute session for free but means that there are that many fewer days for regular sessions. All of which is to say that if you want to book a regular session in April I recommend doing it quickly. Click HERE to book; currently available dates are listed in the drop-down box on the ordering page.

Free Sessions in April

February 18, 2010

Well, the web site and blog are being revamped and they are a MESS. Oy! Web design is not the most fun thing to do when one child is vomiting and the other is engaging in jealous, attention-seeking behaviors. Actually, I’m not sure designing a photography portrait web site is EVER fun, even if you didn’t throw sick kids into the mix.

Miss Sickie seems better now, and 1 bowl of soup later shows no signs of regurgitation. Fingers crossed it remains so.

Meanwhile, I wanted to give a heads up to current clients who didn’t get the newsletter. Wait – you aren’t subscribed? Go subscribe to it now. Right now. I’ll wait for you to come back.

There. See, that didn’t take long. The next newsletter will go out sometime in March. Maybe April. In theory once a month seems good, but then things get busy.

In the last email newsletter – that one you didn’t read – there was, well, news about free sessions I am offering in April. Go sign up for one of 10 mini-session slots on April 10th. Well, there are fewer now. There is a $100 deposit to reserve your time which is non-refundable if you cannot make it but which can be applied in full to your print order. Don’t like any of your prints? I’ll refund the deposit. But you’ll like them. I know you.

Go forth and reserve your slot now.

I have totally revamped my “baby package” to include children of all ages as well as an album and cards. The “A Year in the Life” portrait package includes 3 or 4 regular photography sessions spread out however you prefer over 14 months, a 20 page book with 10-15 images from each session and 50 flat press-printed cards.

You can use this package to preserve a child’s first year or simply to document the changes a year brings to your family. Sessions can be at your home, at the beach, playing in the fall leaves in one of Connecticut’s beautiful parks, a holiday session in the snow. or whatever you please You can use the cards for holiday cards, birth announcements or simply stationary with your family’s image.

Sessions might include, for example. a maternity portrait session, a newborn session, a lifestyle session of your whole family at the beach and then a more formal Christmas portrait session by the tree. I like this so much more than the baby package because it is much less limiting – you really can use it for whatever suits your family best.

The whole package is $1,250. You can book it HERE.

The Image Box

January 2, 2010

For those of us with little old New England houses the Image Box is a fun, modern way to display your images. Each box holds either a 5X7 print of every image from your slideshow or 15 selected prints mounted on matboard. The mounted prints are great because you can display them on an easel on a mantle or a shelf and then swap the picture whenever you need a change. I’ll have a sample at your session – remind me to show it to you!

Holiday Availability

November 30, 2009

I have no more regular sessions available before the holiday cut off. I do have a handful of morning mini sessions available on weekday mornings this week and next. Remember that all holiday orders must be placed by December 11th to guarantee delivery by the end of Hanakkah or Christmas and if your shoot is on the 9th you’d best be a fast decision maker!

To book a mini session at 9:30 AM on a weekday, click HERE.

I have opened up booking on regular sessions through the end of March. Click HERE to reserve one.

Computers are cantankerous little beasts. They are confusing, eat your order halfway through, refuse to behave, crash unpredictably and, really, it’s impossible to sit and select images for albums or accordion wallet books and really understand what is going to fit nicely without having an actual printed proof in your hand. I know the whole world is electronic but I’m going backwards to a more personal, human-centered approach.

At your session I will set up a date with you to meet and view the proofs. I’ll bring a complete set of 4X6 proofs to handle, look through and actually see in the real world. I’ll work with you to place your order, show you what albums and accordions look like and help you sort through all the options and collections to figure out how to get what you want at the best price. Since we’ll be working together I can easily customize packages to allow you the greatest flexibility in ordering – I just can’t beat the software into sufficient submission to get it to do that!

I will still offer online proofing after the in-person session for family and clients who are out of state or who simply wish to view the entire gallery.
