Nothing quite like a little jump up into the air to get a child to loosen up.

Twins. In the same frame. Only kind of throttling each other.
It’s the holy grail of children’s photography.

I shot this up in a barn in Maine. We head up to Maine every summer and I can schedule a shoot while I am there – contact me if you live in the Ellsworth, Maine area and want to get on my notification list for “people to email about a shoot when I am in Maine.”
My children are 5 today. Four has been an excellent year. These are not necessarily my best shots, but shots of them together.
Nothing quite like an old chicken barn that’s been turned into a used bookstore and a some fast medium format film to pass the time.

Girl in Tutu, which was accepted to Lightbox Photographic’s Plastic Fantastic II juried show along with Beach, was awarded third place by juror Susan Burnstine.
Third place : Stacy Turner’s [sic] “Girl In Tutu” is a truly iconic toy camera image that is perfect in every way. The menacing composition, the complex, troubled expression on the child’s face and the overall depth and mood is uncompromisingly flawless in a creative practice that thrives on flaws to create perfection.
A nice bit of news to come home to last night.
