I am designing some posters to give away to local lactation professionals, doulas, obstetricians and midwives for World Breastfeeding Week in August which means I need to choose which images from my stash of nursing photos to use in the poster. I’m planning on including 16-20 small images. Please take a look at the gallery (password: milk) and let me know which ones YOU like. And, if YOU are one of those lactation professional/doula/midwife/obstetrician people and would like a poster please let me know that too!

New Fresh Faces Call
March 4, 2010I am seeking young people between the ages of 14 and 20 for my photography portfolio. Modeling job does not pay but you get a free mini portrait session and 1 8X10 print of your choice from the session. Fresh Faces shoot must be scheduled on a weekday morning and will run for about 30 minutes between 9 and 11AM. All shoots are done in either Blue Back Square, West Hartford Center or Westmoor Park. I will either choose or offer you a choice based on what I need.
Free Sessions in April
February 18, 2010Well, the web site and blog are being revamped and they are a MESS. Oy! Web design is not the most fun thing to do when one child is vomiting and the other is engaging in jealous, attention-seeking behaviors. Actually, I’m not sure designing a photography portrait web site is EVER fun, even if you didn’t throw sick kids into the mix.
Miss Sickie seems better now, and 1 bowl of soup later shows no signs of regurgitation. Fingers crossed it remains so.
Meanwhile, I wanted to give a heads up to current clients who didn’t get the newsletter. Wait – you aren’t subscribed? Go subscribe to it now. Right now. I’ll wait for you to come back.
There. See, that didn’t take long. The next newsletter will go out sometime in March. Maybe April. In theory once a month seems good, but then things get busy.
In the last email newsletter – that one you didn’t read – there was, well, news about free sessions I am offering in April. Go sign up for one of 10 mini-session slots on April 10th. Well, there are fewer now. There is a $100 deposit to reserve your time which is non-refundable if you cannot make it but which can be applied in full to your print order. Don’t like any of your prints? I’ll refund the deposit. But you’ll like them. I know you.
Free Photoshop Template
February 9, 2010Because it is hard to figure out what to do with those perfect photos of little hands in grown up hands. Simply click on the sample, download the photoshop document and replace the image you see here with your own.
If you like it, leave a comment telling me so.
Add a Brag Book to your Order!
January 25, 2010Get all the images from your slideshow printed on professional photo paper and spiral bound with a clear, acetate cover and a black cardstock back. These 5X5 brag books are small enough to tuck in a purse and large enough not to get lost on your shelf.

These make fabulous (and economical!) gifts for grandparents. Heck – they’re such a bargain get one for each set of grandparents! Plus, they come in a cute box.

These are normally only available after a minimum $350 purchase. However, until the end of January all the 2009 galleries have been reloaded so any 2009 client can purchase one without needing to worry about the minimum purchase.

The New Web Site is Live!
November 7, 2009Well, it’s been gasping for air for a while, but I think I can finally call it alive. I feel like celebrating, which is much better than the “feeling like tearing my hair out” I felt like earlier in the week and though I managed to avoid the latter I think I shall embrace the former by giving away gift certificates, just in time for the holidays too!*
The Brand New and Improved Stacie Turner Photography Web Site, now with Weddings
Go take a peek. And if you find your child on the web site (not the blog, which is the same as it ever was) post a quickie description of the image in the comments of this post on the blog by December 31, 2009 and I’ll mail you a gift certificate for $25.
* Which reminds me – gift certificates make terrific, well, gifts.

Local Bradley Childbirth Class Provider
March 6, 2009I wanted to do Bradley classes but there were none available when I was pregnant. I slip coupons for $50 off session fees in Erica Grossman’s Bradley classes goodie bags and am letting you all know about her classes because I wish she had been doing this when I was knocked up and even if I didn’t benefit from it there’s no reason you can’t.
We are planning another series of classes to the first week in June, for mamas who are due in August/September
The Bradley Method is a series of twelve classes, held weekly, that help prepare you and your husband/partner for labor and birth without the use of drugs and with the goal of avoiding as much medical intervention as possible. The classes include education on good nutrition during pregnancy, exercises to prepare the mother for the marathon of labor, anatomy and physiology of labor, coping techniques for labor, good coaching tips for the partner, ways to avoid drugs and interventions, breastfeeding information and postpartum care. The aim of the classes is to make the mother comfortable and trust in her body so she can tune-in to her body through labor and use natural breathing and relaxation to work through the labor without the use of drugs.
The classes are ideal for families planning home OR hospital births; first, second or beyond!
Each class runs approximately 2 to 2.5 hours. Classes are held in our home in Manchester, and we limit class size to ensure plenty of time for personal discussion.
Contact her if you are interested in attending her classes!
