I am really going to get this office clean.

In order to clean out I am going to pack up and give away 2 sets of 4 cards. You can mix and match to your heart’s delight (subject to availability – if I only have 3 left of one of them, well, you can’t have 4 of it) from these 4.

I’ll choose one random winner, using random.org, from comments on the blog post and 1 random winner, random.org again, from comments on the facebook post on the Stacie Turner Photography page linking to the blog post. Please mention on your comment what combination of cards you would like. I will then ship the winner his or her cards to any address in the continental United States. If you live in Japan, Hawaii, Canada etc. you’ll need to find a friend to snag them for you, sorry. One comment per person on the blog post and one comment per person on the facebook post please, unless you want to go crazy and link to it from your twitter or own blog, in which case those linkbacks will count as an extra entry for you

It’s like a free stocking stuffer or gift for your favorite lactation consultant, doula, or person who writes notes (or the chance for one anyway) – I’ll mail them out next week so you’ll have them in time for most winter holidays.

Canvas Contest

So…. the time has come for winter present buying and who doesn’t want a 16X20 canvas of their beloved grandchild to hang? Or you could keep it for yourself. You can win a canvas of the image of your choice from your 2011 session thus:

1) Go to Facebook. See this photo album. Find the image from your session.

2) Encourage, nag, beg, harass and in other ways exhort your friends and family to “like” the picture.

3) The final image with the most “likes” from fans of Stacie Turner Photography by November 1, 2011 wins.

Likes have to be from fans of Stacie Turner Photography. Comments don’t count. “Likes” have to be on the image on the Stacie Turner Photography page on facebook – people who comment on your wall or like a copy of the image elsewhere are very nice but their comments/likes won’t count towards the final total.

If you would prefer a different image from your session than the one posted, that’s fine. If you win just tell me which of your session images you want.

Canvas will be shipped anywhere you want in the continental United States. If you want to send it to Japan or Antarctica or some such you will need a US address for me to send it to from which you can then forward it on towards its final destination.

If no images from your 2011 session are in the photo album you either didn’t sign a model release or my brain is a sieve and I missed you. Either way you can simply request that I add a picture from your session and I will.

Holga Sessions – Free to Book on April Fools

Hey, I realize normal people offer sales on more conventional days, like Labor Day, but I’m not especially normal and the holga is not an especially normal camera.

The Sale: A free holga-only session. Must be reserved today (4/1) and scheduled before 8/30/2011.

The Fine Print: There will be a $100 charge to book the session which will be applied to your print order. If you decide you don’t like any prints, your reservation fee will be refunded to you in full.

Why the Fine Print: I am only going to schedule 5 of these free sessions and it’s on a first come, first served basis and I don’t want someone to take a slot and fill up the schedule and then renege. I’m hoping a $100 reservation fee will ensure only people who really want a holga session will book.

What’s a holga? A holga is a plastic toy camera. They are quirky, unpredictable and can produce dreamy images with a fantastical feel to them. They can also produce utter dreck. If you aren’t already familiar with my holga work you really shouldn’t book this.

How do I book? Send $100 to orders@memoriesbystacie.com via paypal. If you are not one of the first 5 to book I will simply refund you the money.

Local Bradley Childbirth Class Provider

I wanted to do Bradley classes but there were none available when I was pregnant. I slip coupons for $50 off session fees in Erica Grossman’s Bradley classes goodie bags and am letting you all know about her classes because I wish she had been doing this when I was knocked up and even if I didn’t benefit from it there’s no reason you can’t.

We are planning another series of classes to the first week in June, for mamas who are due in August/September

The Bradley Method is a series of twelve classes, held weekly, that help prepare you and your husband/partner for labor and birth without the use of drugs and with the goal of avoiding as much medical intervention as possible. The classes include education on good nutrition during pregnancy, exercises to prepare the mother for the marathon of labor, anatomy and physiology of labor, coping techniques for labor, good coaching tips for the partner, ways to avoid drugs and interventions, breastfeeding information and postpartum care. The aim of the classes is to make the mother comfortable and trust in her body so she can tune-in to her body through labor and use natural breathing and relaxation to work through the labor without the use of drugs.

The classes are ideal for families planning home OR hospital births; first, second or beyond!

Each class runs approximately 2 to 2.5 hours. Classes are held in our home in Manchester, and we limit class size to ensure plenty of time for personal discussion.
