Faces of Motherhood

Some people get dealt lousy hands over and over again and remain the nicest people you could ever hope to meet. She’s no namby-pamby nice – more of a fiercely battling mama bear – but you couldn’t want to know a stronger or better woman. And if you happen to be a child with a congenital heart defect, this is the woman you want to be born to because she will pump extra milk and skim the cream off and feed it to you on a spoon, she will get up every few hours to nebulize you, she will mother you into confusing the pediatric cardiologist as, well, babies just don’t DO this well with that severe a defect. Unless this woman is the mom.
