Can you believe your baby is almost a year old?

This shoot is a great time to capture your child’s emerging personality. A session can either be formal with solid shirts, slip dresses and nice pants or casual with overalls, tulle skirts and bare feet. Be careful to avoid busy prints and “character” shirts. As much as your child adores Dora or Thomas, 5 years from now you’ll be happier if the clothing in your portraits is classic and simple. If the weather is nice we can venture outside and in the Hartford area I can recommend some lovely locations.

The shoot takes about 1-hour. We’ll try to get some shots of your baby’s little feet with your grown-up feet (so treat yourself to a pedicure!) as well as images of your babe exploring the environment. Because one-year-olds are mobile images become much less planned and more spontaneous and evocative of your child’s individual personality.

Consider bringing a small, round white cake to the sitting to include shots of your child demolishing a birthday cake! But be prepared to do laundry – we’ll do this one last and afterward your child will be coated in cake. Fair warning.

It takes 5-10 business days for me to get your images ready to be viewed in their online slideshow. I usually am able to get at least one image up on the blog right away so you can get a quick look (and forward the link to family and friends, of course.) You are welcome to use the blog images for anything you like as long as you leave the watermark on them; they are low resolution for quick loading on the web and won’t print nicely but they are great to forward via email to family or post in online communities. Your slideshow will be up for two weeks. There is a 15% discount for the first three days. If you do not order within that time there is a $25 fee to rehost it.
